- Job specifications are read and interpreted.
- Workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements, including personal protection needs are observed throughout the work.
- Equipment and tooling are identified and checked for safe and effective operation.
- Procedures are determined to minimise waste material.
- Procedures are identified for maximising energy efficiency while completing the job.
- Clean components prior to repairs and/or storage
- Cleaning agents are used according to cleaning agent manufacturer/component supplier instructions.
- Components of vehicle are cleaned to facilitate inspection, assessment, replacement, repair and/or storage.
- Cleaning of components is achieved without causing damage to component or system.
- Cleaning activities are carried out according to industry regulations/guidelines, WHS requirements, legislation and enterprise procedures/policies.
- Used cleaning agents and waste material are safely disposed of according to statutory and enterprise requirements.
- Remove, tag and store components
- Information is accessed and interpreted from manufacturer/component supplier specifications.
- Components are removed, tagged and stored in accordance with manufacturer/component supplier specifications and enterprise procedures, to prevent injury to self and others or damage to components.
- Components are removed, tagged and stored without causing damage to component or system.
- Removal and storage activities are carried out according to industry regulations/guidelines, WHS requirements, legislation and enterprise procedures/policies.
- Report on additional parts required to complete repair (not listed on quotation) is completed in accordance with enterprise policy.
- Clean up work area and maintain equipment
- Material that can be reused is collected and stored.
- Waste and scrap is removed following workplace procedure.
- Equipment and work area are cleaned and inspected for serviceable condition in accordance with workplace procedures.
- Unserviceable equipment is tagged and faults identified in accordance with workplace requirements.
- Operator maintenance is completed in accordance with manufacturer/component supplier specifications and worksite procedures.
- Tooling is maintained in accordance with workplace procedures.
